Missed Classes (8-Week Course)

For beginners the first and second classes in a series of 8 must be attended. These 2 classes set up the foundation of what we will be learning during the course and are essential to success in the course.

Class Make-up (8-Week Course)

We want to be flexible for our members. Therefore we allow people to take days off but it is their responsibility to find an alternate date to make-up the missed class. This make-up class must happen before the end of the course. To facilitate the arrangement of make-up classes, Mud Magic will provide a schedule with all members' dates and times listed. If you need to miss a class it is your responsibility to find an alternate class to cover it.

Cancellation Policy (Workshops)

When you cancel between 7 days and 48 hours before the start of a course or workshop you will receive 50% of the value. An administration fee of 25 euro will be charged for all cancellations taking place less than 7 days in advance of the start of a course or workshop.

Any cancellations less than 48 hours in advance of the start of a course or workshop will not be compensated. However, it is always possible for you to offer us a substitute participant and change the registration name.

If you are ill and cannot attend a workshop, but would like to reschedule, you must give 7 days notice.

Mud Magic reserves the right to cancel classes/workshops or close the communal studio in case of unforeseen circumstances. In the event that the instructor gets sick, classes may be cancelled. Replacement classes will be given at the earliest date possible following recovery. There are no refunds of money for these cancellations.

Age

Classes are geared toward adult students but if a teen would like to participate and is serious about learning the techniques, teens as young as 12 can participate in courses and workshops.

GENERAL

Mud Magic is a tiny studio. This means that there is only a limited space and so cleanliness is paramount. It also means that there is not a lot of space for extra things brought left in the studio. If you bring your own tools please take them with you when you leave each day. Everyone should take care of their own areas and tools when cleaning up. You are welcome to use the tools available in the studio, and if there is something specific you'd like to try let Sandra know and she can perhaps purchase it for the studio. We provide basic throwing and trimming tools, carving and stamping tools, and other hand building tools. Aprons are available as well. 

Safety & Cleaning

Everyone must use the materials (clay bodies and glazes) provided by the studio. Clay dust is dangerous to inhale and eat. Therefore, there is no eating or smoking allowed in the studio.

Studio Hours

There is always someone in the studio during class hours. Class hours are posted on our website. If you want to pick up a finished piece or stop by the studio for other reasons, outside of class hours, please contact us to make arrangements.

Personal Property

Mud Magic is not responsible for personal belongings or any work getting damaged, lost or stolen. In a communal studio such as this, it is inevitable that there will occasionally be work that gets damaged.

Firing cost

If you are renting the kiln to fire your own work there will be a procedure to test those materials for safety in our facility. If you would like to rent our kiln please contact Sandra for more information.

Liability

Members and students use studio equipment at their own risk, and are liable for any damage caused to the studio due to misuse, so please make sure you only use the equipment for which you are fully trained. 

Mud Magic communicates with its members by email and WhatsApp. By providing an email address to Mud Magic, the member consents to receiving email communications from Mud Magic. 

Privacy

Mud Magic will use your contact information to keep you informed of the latest studio news. Members and class participants may be contacted by instructors by email or phone in case of any last minute changes, and for planning make-up classes. Mud Magic will not pass personal info on to any other third party.

Policies

We may at any time modify these Policies. We will notify you of any changes by emailing you and/or by posting a notice at the studio. By continuing to use the services after changes to these Policies are made and notified to you, you agree to be bound by such changes. Please review the Policies carefully and make sure that you understand them. You must agree with the Policies in order to use our space.
