Always wanted to try out the pottery wheel? Well now's your chance. We are offering a 2-Day Sampler Workshop for people who are new to wheel-throwing and want to try it before they commit to a multi-week course. Classes are Saturday and Sunday, 11am-1pm. Day One: Centering (getting the clay to sit right in the middle of your wheel) Opening (creating the floor of your work) Pulling walls (bringing the clay up to form the sides of your work) Shaping (forming the walls) Day Two: Trimming (shaping your work after it has dried to leather hard) Creating the base Choosing a glaze You will end this workshop with one beautifully handmade bowl or cup. You will pick up your work at the studio about 2-3 weeks (sometimes longer due to vacations) after the workshop. You should wear clothing you don't mind getting dirty and consider cutting your finger nails. All classes are taught in English.
