2-DAY WHEEL THROWING TASTER

Service Description

This 2-Day Taster is for BEGINNERS. Meeting Sat and Sun 11-1pm. You will learn DAY ONE: Centering (getting the clay to sit right in the middle of your wheel) Opening (forming the inside and floor of your work) Pulling Walls (bringing the clay up to form the sides of your work) Shaping (forming the walls) DAY TWO: Trimming (carving your work after it has dried to leather hard) Creating Foot Rings Decorating (painting your work with underglaze, carving patterns, adding handles or other elements) This course includes all the materials you will need to create a ceramic piece of your own as well as the twice firing needed (both bisque and glaze fire) to finish the piece. After you decorate your piece the studio will glaze it for you to the color of your choice. Important Info: Wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Working with long nails is nearly impossible, so please cut your nails before the class. Please tie your hair up if it is long. All classes are taught in English. Bookings are final. The courses are usually full, so we can’t move people from one date to another. You must attend both classes since what you make on Sat is what you finish on Sun.
